Curtin Malaysia was the first foreign university campus established in East Malaysia (in 1999). It is located in Miri, Sarawak, and is the first and largest offshore campus of the Curtin University of Technology. Curtin is ranked in the top 1% of universities worldwide in the highly regarded Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) 2020 and has received a five-star overall excellence rating in the QS Stars rating. In addition, it is one of only eight tertiary institutions in Malaysia which is granted self-accreditation status by the Ministry.

Curtin offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in business, humanities, engineering, science, and technology. Additionally, the courses at a pre-university level that feed directly into undergraduate programs are also available. Curtin provides students with the opportunity to excel in the fields of accounting, finance, business administration, applied geology, petroleum engineering, environmental engineering, software engineering, cybersecurity, and media studies. Research activities are of prime concern at Curtin and it is evident from a number of ultra-modern science and engineering labs, including Chemical, Geotechnical, and Structural Engineering labs, as well as laboratories for Electrical Power, Electronics, Communications, Embedded Systems, Networking, Renewable Energy and Geophysics.

Curtin has always prioritized the innovation of technology, with reference to that it has introduced the distributed learning spaces for web-based instruction, live-stream video conferencing, face-to-face classroom time, and other blends of automated and traditional educational models. This allows the university to reach learners in multiple geographical locations.

CAMPUS LIFE: 

Curtin Malaysia has an astoundingly beautiful campus spread over 300-acres and surrounded by the world’s oldest rain forest and the South China Sea. The atmosphere of the campus is serene, inspiring, and favorable for both work and study.  It provides students with various on-campus facilities like, food options, a bookshop, convenience store, health centers, an Islamic Centre, and a transport hub. Students can also access indoor basketball court, badminton courts and gym.
